UAE, Dec 30: The much-awaited fun-filled annual get-together of The Ganiga Samaja, was recently held at the Zabeel Park on December 11. The event was organized under the leadership of Ganiga Samaja, UAE president Suresh N Ganiga along with the panel members and the committee members.
The get-together started off by 10.30 am by segregating 4 teams with 4 colours namely red, blue, orange and green which gave a clear identification for the individuals to which teams they belonged to with final scores on which teams gained highest scores claiming the end winners.
The games for the adults started with snooking the ball, the longest yard, ladies games, over and under game, dodge ball and the final ending game of tug of war. Every member participated with full enthusiasm building a team effort atmosphere. Kids too enjoyed every moment and participated in the games sportingly. One of the games was Lemon and Spoon and the second, in and out the boundary game for which the 1st winners for both the rounds were awarded prizes. Kids also loved the opportunity to get their faces painted with their favourite characters.
The afternoon lunch was sponsored by the panel and committee members - catered by Woodlands Restaurant, Sharjah with a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals and ending with a sweet delicacy payasam, a complete meal enjoyed by all. Evening snacks were arranged from Bombay Se, Bur Dubai- samosas and tea too provided an energetic appetite for all Ganiga members.
Senior samaja members K J Ganiga and Krishna Ganiga, Bengaluru attended the get-together. Interestingly many new members joined the picnic this year and it was nice to see all of them introducing themselves to the crowd and assuring their attendance for the rest of the programs of Ganiga Samaja UAE in the near future.
The event concluded late in the evening with announcement of the winning team- the RED TEAM. Each of the RED TEAM players were awarded Chilly Willy hampers sponsored by Satheesha Venkataramana. The kids were gifted Fun City gift cards and chocolates sponsored by Arun Ganiga. Winners prizes were distributed by Suresh N Ganiga and Dayanand Rao.
Each and every member present at the event enjoyed the day and wished for many more fun filled similar events in the coming future.
