Mangaluru: Police commissioner Murugan transferred, Chandra Sekhar to replace him

Mangaluru, Dec 30: Police commissioner of Mangaluru city S Murugan has been transferred, sources have said.

The official order is yet to issued.

It is learnt that IPS officer M Chandra Sekhar will be replacing Murugan.

Chandra Sekhar is presently serving as joint commissioner of police (crime), Bengaluru city.

Murugan had taken charge as police commissioner of Mangaluru on January 1, 2015. It is not yet known where he would be posted next.

Chandra Sekhar, IPS officer of the 1998 batch, had served as DIG of Karnataka Fire and Emergency Services before being posted as joint commissioner (crime) of Bengaluru city.

It is also learnt that SP of Lokayukta Sonia Narang has been transferred and will take over as joint commissioner of police (crime), Bengaluru city, in place of Chandra Sekhar.
