Kundapur: Suicide by woman with young daughter - Court acquits husband

Daijiworld Media Network - Kundapur (SP)

Kundapur, Dec 31: A person, who had been charged with abetting the suicide of his wife, has been acquitted by the court here after hearing the case. Mahesh Devadiga had been accused of nursing suspicion about the character of his wife, and of inflicting mental and physical torture to her. Allegedly, his wife, unable to bear this agony, had committed suicide by jumping into the well of the house along with her 30-month-old daughter.

Mahesh, a resident of Navunda village, had married Nagaratna from Teggarse village in the taluk on January 30, 2011. Problems for Nagaratna started the day on which she received a missed call over her cellphone from a stranger. Reportedly, Mahesh grew suspicious about his wife's character from that day onward, and his doubts compounded with each day. It is said that he used to come home drunk regularly, and beat up his wife, urging her to either jump into the rivulet or divorce him. He was also aggrieved about the fact that his wife delivered a female baby.

On the evening of June 28, 2014, Nagaratna jumped into the well along with daughter, Trisha, thus ending both the lives.

Byndoor police circle inspector, Sudarshan, conducted investigation and filed charge sheet against Mahesh in the court. During the hearing, 13 witnesses were examined by the court. The additional sessions judge here, Rajashekhar A Patil, who presided over the proceedings, held that the charges levelled against the accused have not been proved. Accordingly, Mahesh was absolved of all charges.

Advocate, Ravikiran Murdeshwar, represented Mahesh in the court in this case.

Today again I read a horrible news of a girl child infant abandoned by her parents and that too in a garbage where the child was eaten alive by pigs. such a inhuman act by the parents. looks like people have stopped believing in God and are becoming satanic worshippers by doing such inhuman acts day by day the number of satans are increasing in the world and these people commit all crimes and roam freely in society which is even more tragic. why people give birth just for pleasure and commit satanic acts.

looks like justice has not been done rightly to this woman and her child. its high time the society shows they will not tolerate such wrong doings and punish the wrongdoer the husband by boycotting him from society. otherwise others will also get encouraged to commit such crimes in future.

Now a days divorces are increasing day by day. Please read below:
Most people getting married, believing a myth that marriage is a beautiful box full of all things they have longed for: companionship, intimacy, friendship, etc etc.
The truth is marriage at the start is an empty box. You must put something in before you can take something out.
There is no love in marriage, love is in people and people put love in marriage. There is no romance in marriage, you have to infuse it into your marriage.
The couple must learn the art and form habit of giving, loving, serving, praising and keeping the box full. If you take out more than you fill in, the marriage box will be empty.

@Santhan M.mumbai,I would say marriage is a golden käfig.People outside want to get in.Who are gone inside wants to comeout when tey realize ,not everything glitzers is Gold.Only who are able to make it a eden are a few.Rest blame on their Partner.Sad it happened here so.He made it a hell to his Family who couldn't bear any more the torture.Perhaps she could have taken someone to counsel about her Problems statt to suicide .Innocent child too had to suffer with fathers harassment.May their Soul rest in peace. It is a lesson to men who doubts always about wifes character and being delivered a Girl.First look into yourself and blame others.

Another gross injustice towards a hapless, hopeless and helpless woman and her innocent daughter.

The case stinks of dowry harassment, subsequently fortified by the eunuch of a husband with character assassination and then the demand for a male child.

The eunuch of a husband should have known that it is his sperm that determines the sex of the child and not the wife.

And such eunuchs want male children so that they can demand big fat dowries from their future daughter in laws to enjoy lavish relaxed retired lives.

Girl child is a biggest problem for some mindless people. You want a mother, sister, wife, but why not a daughter ? Even in this 21st century, there is a wide gap between the numbers of girls to boys in our country.

We can see around lot of people roaming freely by committing crimes like killing, torturing people, raping , molestation, robbery, cheating etc. but cannot be proven in court of law or even left scot free due to their cunningness, political influence that’s the reason God Almighty has created heaven and hell for the ultimate justice, if people believe in God Almighty they won’t do all these sins, but they think that this word is eternal and they are enjoy the life here but they will never ever get peace of mind in this life and life hereafter. Suicide is not a solution to the problem, we should fight and preserve the precious life given by Almighty, in this case she would have divorced him and lived with dignity. May their soul rest in peace.

It is so sad and tragic to end two lives. Women who face problems should seek help outside one's family. There will be so many good souls who will be willing to help, solve or re-settle them. Please do not take extreme step and that too with children, what have they done?

Some how felt tears in my eyes seeing the innocent face of that kid. No sin of that baby, the couple ended her life in this world. May be the mother passing through such a painful life that she thought not to leave her daughter in this cruel life where people like Mahesh live. Not sure if it's a fact or real story or some hidden agenda. But if it's a true story, I would pray almighty god to punish Mahesh severely that he should realize what his wife and daughter have gone through... But I feel nobody has the right to kill such a innocent kid for no crime of it's. She could have found some way to get rid of this evil and lived a life, than ending themselves leaving this devil in the society. Any ways... some how felt a lot to see that innocent face of the kid.
