Bengaluru: Government goes for emergency administrative surgery

Bengaluru, Jan 1: Soon after the appointment of chief secretary, the state government has gone into promotion and transfer business. It has done several promotions and transfers within a day.

The government has promoted 13 IAS officers and transferred 11 IAS officers. It has also effected the promotions and transfers of 28 KAS officers.

This is the first round only. More news in this regard is likely to follow, say sources in the government.

As the code of conduct applied during the legislative council elections, government was sitting over the promotion and transfer files. Now at once it has acted as the code of conduct has been lifted. Due to the taluk and Zilla panchayat elections, election code of conduct will come into effect again from January 10. Then again the hands of the government will be tied of to make promotions and transfers.

Sources in the government said that it is going to be a special promotion and transfer time till January 10.

Some Babus termed the development as an emergency administrative surgery.
