Image change not on Delnaaz Irani's mind

Mumbai, Jan 1 (IANS): Actress Delnaaz Irani, known for her comical and bubbly roles, says she does not feel the need for an image change.

"I am very proud of the fact that people love me for what I do. So there are no qualms about changing images or personality or whatever," Delnaaz told IANS.

Delnaaz, who is currently seen on Sony Entertainment Television channel's couple-based reality show "Power Couple" with her partner Percy Karkaria, says an artiste tends to get slotted in showbiz.

"The industry tries to slot you. And I would like to believe that if your audiences like you in a particular role, slot or that image, I don't see why you would want to change that," said the 43-year-old actress.

Delnaaz is known for her roles in films like "Kal Ho Naa Ho", "Bhootnath", "Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum"; and TV shows like "Baa Bahoo Aur Baby", "Kya Huaa Tera Vaada" and "Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara".

The actress, who has also been a part of reality shows like "Nach Baliye", "Zara Nachke Dikha" and "Bigg Boss", says it's "important to have a certain image because if you are scattered, then it's difficult to be in a particular bracket".

"Then at least you have an image, strong personality and in that bracket if you have hardly any competition for you, you are well-placed there," Delnaaz added.
