Bengaluru: First shock of New Year- Milk price to go up by Rs 4

Daijiworld Media Network- Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru Jan 2: People of Karnataka did not expect any shock on the first day of the year itself. But the government did not bother about the timing of its decision. The Chief Minister has consented for the hike of Nandini milk price by Rs 4 per litre, it is learned.

There was a demand by milk federations to increase the price of milk by Rs 5 per litre. Minister for co-operation H S Mahadeva Prasad and minister for animal husbandry A Manju took the proposal to the chief minister and discussed it. After the chief minister gave his approval for the hike, it is only a matter of time before the KMF comes out with an announcement.

Presently the milk price is Rs 29 per litre. With the price hike, it will be available at Rs 33. It is expected that the KMF will make the announcement within a day and the price hike will come into effect from January 5.

Minister A Manju said that the price hike is going to help the farmers who are in distress and instil confidence in them. 75% of the money from the hike will go to the farmers while the remaining money will be spent for administrative expenses of the federations.

Electricity situation to improve

Meanwhile energy minister D K Shivakumar has said that there will not be any load shedding in the state from January 1 as the electricity situation has improved.

Karnataka with the demand of 9,800 mega watts and the supply of 8,400 mega watts still faces a shortage of 1,400 mega watts. But the minister is confident that the shortage will be made good by sourcing electricity from different sources.

Farmer pump sets will get 3 phase electricity for 6 to 7 hours and pump sets for drinking water purposes will get electricity all 24 hours. There will not be any load shedding in the state from now onwards, the minister revealed.

I wonder how is it mentioned in this article that the price for 1 ltr of milk is Rs.29/-May I know in which district? In bantwal if we buy half liter milk packed in Green packet the seller charges us Rs.20/-!!!! wen we ask why so they say that rs.2 is for the cost for keeping it in the fridge. I would like to know what is the exact price for half ltr green packet milk? either the govt is fooling us or our shop keepers. If Farmers benefits from this hike then I am glad n appreciate the decision...

Exact price is printed on the pack. Authorized nandini milk parlour/vendors will stick to this price. rest of course have to charge extra as they buy for the printed amount and keep in the refrigerator. sometimes they end up loosing due to leak and non sale.

Petrol prices are still high despite of crude oil at lowest and the benefit goes to the Ambanis the Looters of India. Here atleast poor farmer who is still struggling can get some benefit. Think about farmer also its easy to comment sitting in AC rooms. The fodder for the cows is at high because of price hike. Farmers were poor now gone down again. Strip AMbanis first not the farmers. Ambanis have made mess of our resources and looting constantly.

When milk prices were increased during Yeddi rule, you supported the move saying the price increase help milk farmers. What happened this time? Did all farmers sell their milking cows to Congi's?

Hi Nagesh, today the Modiji government raised the excise duty on diesel by Rs. 2 and petrol by Rs. 37 which is the 7th such raise after this government came to power. Also LPG prices increased by Rs. 50 per cylinder 2 days back!. All these price increases are being done inspite of international crude prices are decreasing ever since Modiji came to power(maybe hand of Modiji!)!!!. Your government is somehow refusing to give full benefit to the people of this country and you write in caps!. Milk production costs have increased because your government has allowed the pharma companies to mindlessly increase prices of vet drugs and feed supplements!. Can you talk about all this and more in caps!?

because congress knows people are fools.. in case if they are not re-elected in 2018, they will definitely come to power in 2023 because stupid things what they are doing now same things BJP will do next turn if they get the power.

Once corrupt congress fool people when they are in power that time we favour BJP. when corrupt BJP comes to power they also fool the people that time we vote again congress to power as that time it will be anti-BJP. and this what has been going on for long time... it has to end and some change has to come in system...

So my vote coming election is to Aam Admi Party. Jai Hind.
