Mangaluru, Jan 2: “The Infant Jesus Shrine at Bikarnakatta in the city will celebrate its annual feast on January 14.” This was disclosed by Fr Joe Tauro OCD, superior of the shrine.

Addressing the media persons at the press club on Saturday January 2, he said that the celebrations will commence with novena on from January 5 and will continue for nine days. “On the first day of the novena a procession of the offerings for the feast has been organized from the Kulshekar church premises at 4.30 pm to the shrine.”

“About 1 lac people irrespective of the religion are expected to arrive at the shrine on the day of the feast while about 30,000 are expected every day of the novena.”

“The archbishop of Bhopal Leo Corneleo will be the main celebrant of the feast mass and meals for all will be served at the shrine on the day of the feast. A flag hoisting ceremony with regard to the feast will also be included,” he said.

He invited all present to the feast and to share in the joy.

The director of the shrine Fr Elias D'Souza and committee member Stanly Bantwal were present.
