Saudi Arabia to deport reckless Indian driver

Riyadh, Jan 3 (Emirates 247) : Saudi Arabia has decided to deport a reckless Indian motorist for driving his truck at 100kph without holding the wheel and authorities said the decision is intended to protect the country from his evil acts, according to local newspapers.

The unnamed driver was seen in a YouTube film posted on social networks leaving the wheel of his vehicle unmanned and moving to the passenger’s seat to film himself as the truck cruised at over 100 kph on a motorway in Saudi Arabia.

The shocking footage, published in Sabq and other papers, showed the young driver filming himself and listening to loud music as he left the wheel of the truck unattended.

Saudi traffic police later managed to track the driver and arrest him after the film went viral on social media. Newspapers said the incident took place on a motorway between the capital Riyadh and the Eastern port of Dammam.

The report said police arrested the driver with the help of his company manager and colleagues in Riyadh, adding that he confessed to driving recklessly.

“He was jailed for one month for driving recklessly and posing a threat to road users…the head of the Riyadh traffic department recommended his immediate deportation to protect the country from his evil acts and prevent accidents that could cause innocent casualties,” Sabq said.

“The recommendation was approved by the Interior Ministry, which ordered his immediate deportation. It also placed him on the blacklist of persons who are banned from entering the country in the future.”
