Beltangady: Woman along with two young sons commits suicide

Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady

Beltangady, Jan 3: In a tragic incident, a woman along with her two young sons allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a pond at Nujilakki in Belalu here on Sunday January 3.

Sunanda (40), wife of Srinivas, jumped into the pond along with her sons Bharat (9) and Bhuvith (6). All three died in the incident.

Sources said that Sunanda was under depression regarding her health, and hence she took the extreme step.

As per a complaint filed by her brother Sunder Malekudiya, a resident of Belalu, Sunanda had married Srinivas of Balamogaru, Puttur about 10 years ago. As there were no schools in the vicinity, she along with her sons had shifted to Sunder's house in Belalu about three years ago, after which her sons were enrolled in school. Her husband used to visit her once or twice a month.

About three months ago, Sunanda developed pain in her abdomen, and tests done in a private hospital in Mangaluru revealed that she had infection in her uterus. She was then put on treatment. However, Sunanda feared that she had cancer and constantly worried about it, said her brother in the complaint.

On January 3, Sunder had been to Ujire on some work, and on the way back, he received a call from his wife who said that Sunanda and her children were nowhere to be seen. Sunder rushed home, and along with the locals searched for the mother and the children. Their bodies were then found in a pond in Belalu.

Beltangady police arrived at the spot and registered a case.

Now a days cancer is not a big disease. It is sustainable and curable. Of course big money is involved. There are generous people helping these case.

I appreciate daijiworld has taken many such cases and the readers of daijiworld have donated generously.

In my opinion the fundamental organizations like Bajrang Dal, VHP, RSS and HJV leaders should help / assist and work for life giving work accomplishments rather than life loosing work accomplishments of the society.

Poor helpless people are losing the life.

I think even the government is also giving help for the cancer patients for those BPL / APL.

In life we all have to try our best but be prepared for the worst and the result may go either way, we have to surrender to the will of God, but try, we must.
