Mangaluru, Jan 5: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajarangdal offered tribute to the martyrs of Pathankot terror attack at War memorial, on Tuesday, January 1.

Addressing the gathered, the state convenor of VHP, M B Puanik said, “In the terror attack on Pathankot airbase, seven of our army personnel have lost their lives. The attack was carried out because of the rage caused due to Modi's recent visit to Pakistan.”

Highlighting the service of jawans, he further said, “Today if we are able to sleep comfortably, it is only because of our jawans patrolling the border. The Modi led union government through the ‘One Rank One Pension’ scheme has brought smiles on the faces of the families of many military personnel which is appreciable. I pray God’s blessings on the seven martyr's families so that the families may be able to bear their loss.”

Speaking on the occasion, the district president of Bajarangdal, Jagadeesh Shenava said, “We thank these martyrs for their heroic act. Even for all of us, country comes first and the second is religion. We want to tell the families of the martyrs that we are with them in such difficult times.”

District secretary of Bajarangdal, Gopal Kutthar, VHP leader Kateel Dinesh Pai were present. They offered a floral tribute to the photographs of the martyrs and observed one minute silence.
