Mangaluru, Jan 6: Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, fondly known as Amma, is scheduled to visit Amrita Vidyalayam Grounds near Sulthan Bathery, Boloor here on January 9 and 10.
This was revealed by Dr Jeevaraj Sorake, honorary president of Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samiti in a press meet at Amrita Vidyalayam here on Wednesday January 6. 'Brahmasthana Mahotsava' and 'Amritasangama 2016' are also planned in the divine presence of Amma, he said.
"Two sessions, one each on January 9 and 10 have been planned. Amma, popularly known as 'hugging saint' will hug each and every individual who visits her for darshan. There will be public programmes like Udayasthamana puja, Lalitha Sahasranama Archane, Rahudosha and Shanidosha Nivarana pujas. All the spiritual activities start early from 7 am with meditation and other activities. These shall be followed by discourse, puja, bhajans and blessings by Amma and the programmes shall continue till late night till all the devotees present at the venue are blessed," he explained.
Brahmachari Krishna said, "There will be tokens for the darshan. People coming early are given time cards to identity them as early comers. The time cards shall be exchanged for darshan coupons after Amma reaches the venue. Darshan tokens are required for each visitor including the smallest of children. The devotees are requested to be present at the venue at the time of making the 'Sankalpa' by Amma so that the full benefit of the programme is availed by the devotees.The devotees are requested to maintain peace and tranquility of the surroundings. Chanting of the names of God or Mantrochhara are suggested. Arrangements will be made for all the devotees to have lunch (Anna Santarpana) at the venue.
"As the programme is fixed on Saturday and Sunday, thousands of devotees are expected from various places. The programme is open to all the devotees irrespective of caste, creed or religion. Amrita Medical Clinic and free medical aid will be available at the venue. For the visitors or devotees travelling out of the venue late in the evening or night, bus facility will arranged to important junctions, bus stands, railway stations etc. There will be an information counter at the venue which can be approached for any information about the programme or the facilities or arrangements. Public are requested to take the fullest advantage of this great opportunity of taking part in Amma’s programme. We request the cooperation of the public to make this spiritual programme a grand success," she said.
Shruthi Hegde, president of Matha Amritanandamayi Seva Samiti, office-bearers Dr Sanath Hegde, Vaman Kamath and others were present.
