Mangaluru, Jan 6: 'Jai Tulunad', produced by noted Dubai-based entrepreneur Frank Fernandes is all set to become this year's first Tulu movie, with release slated for January 15.
The film will hit the screens in Mangaluru, Moodbidri, Udupi, Karkala, Puttur and Beltangady.
Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday January 6, Frank Fernandes said, "The first movie of the new year 'Jai Tulunad' will hit theatres in coastal Karnataka on January 15.
"The movie will premiere on January 14 in PVR Cinemas at Forum Fiza Mall. Avinash Shetty and Sonal Monteiro are in the lead roles along with popular artistes Navin D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Sarojini Shetty and others. The movies has seven songs," he said.
Expressing confidence that the movie would do well, he said, "The film has come out well and is expected to make history in the Coastalwood film industry.
"I have produced movies in three languages, namely Konkani, Kannada and Tulu, but this movie is the best among all," he added.
The audio CD of the movie was also released on the occasion. The movie has six songs, including ones sung by noted playback singer Dr S P Balasubrahmanyam.
The film has been produced by Frank Fernandes and directed by Praveen Thokkottu. N G Shivanna Nandihalli and Ali Nisar Ahmed are the co-producers. The story has been written by Devi Puttur and the dialogues are by S S David and Praveen. Music has been scored by James Architect.
Avinash Shetty and up-and-coming star Sonal Monteiro are the lead actors of the film while Deekshitha Acharya plays an important character. Navin D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Bhavya, Swatik Shankar, Nayana Grahan, Alisha Andrade and Manmohan Rai are also part of starcast. Frank Fernandes, Sarojini Shetty, Sai Prashanth D S, Shivanna Nandihalli, Jagadish Shetty, Ravi Gokak, and Byndoor Meese Gopala will also appear in the film.
Director of the movie Praveen Thokkottu and lead actor Avinash were present at the press meet.
