Woman, daughter arrested for supplying ganja to jail inmates

Mangaluru, Jan 7: A woman and her young daughter who supplied ganja to the inmates of district jail have been arrested in city on Tuesday evening, January 5.

Zubaida (45) and her daughter Misriya (19) from Kasba Bengre are the persons arrested.

As per details, Zubaida and Misriya came to the district jail in city to meet Harris and Althaf who are the inmates. The duo carried some clothes which they said would be given to the inmates they wanted to meet. The jail personnel, who scanned the bag containing the cloths, found ganja in the bag. Ganja was concealed inside a jeans pant.

Barke police came to the spot and arrested both the women and seized ganja worth Rs 3,000. Arrested mother and daughter were produced in court on Wednesday and were released on bail subsequently.

The women during interrogation told the police that a person named Tasthif gave them ganja and told them to smuggle the same into jail.

    Wow released on bail, so soon, no action. Mera Bharat Mahan. First take them in and give them a first class treatment. So how long this business is going on, who all are involved, did you catch all the culprits. Its a big question.

    Who is the minister of Karnataka for horticulture?
    Seriously he should consult with CM and start growing Ganja in Jail premises. This can well reduce the prices and poor inmates will be benefited. A beautiful name for this programme with a suffix 'Bhagya' is needed for this programme.

    Siddu can start a new scheme called "Ganja Baghya" for prisoners...so they could relax and sleep well in prison...best thing is they can plant some ganja plants inside prison compound...

    Better you correct the sentence like “CONGiss Ka Acche Din Keliye Kuchh Bhi Chalega!!!!” We can’t see Acche as long as we invite people & supporters like this for sure
