Mangaluru, Jan 7: The Karnataka government will be holding 'Invest Karnataka 2016', a conference of investors at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru from February 3 to February 5.
To supplement this event, 'Invest Dakshina Kannada-2016', a conference of investors will be held at Mangaluru T M A Pai Convention Hall on January 12 from 10.30 am and 2 pm.
A meeting in this regard was held at the deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim's office here on Thursday January 7.
The conference is being organized with a view to attract investments in Dakshina Kannada district, to generate employment, explore tourism opportunities, create awareness about employment opportunities, to facilitate investors at a single point and to create awareness about the state's industrial policy 2014-'19, the DC said.
"Karnataka state is leading in industrial development and attracting investments. The state has several research and development centres, medical and technical educational institutes and generates a large amount of human resource. It also has start-ups and commercial business units. It has become a global investment centre due to conducive atmosphere, weather, progress oriented society, responsible and friendly administration.
"Karnataka government has released new industrial policy 2014-19 for the growth and patronage of industries. It includes conducive policies for the growth of industries, creation of jobs and to attract investment.
"Details of opportunities for investment and facilities available for investors will be informed in the conference," the DC said.
The district administration has urged industrialists, budding entrepreneurs, businessmen and everyone interested to participate in the conference and encourage industrial growth in the district.
