Bengaluru: Green Tribunal gives conditional clearance for Yettinahole project

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 9: The south zone bench of National Green Tribunal (NGT) at Chennai has given green signal for Yettinahole project, which plans to supply water from Yettinahole rivulet to plains. With this, a number of works undertaken under the project, which had been halted halfway, have got the nod for their continuance.

The tribunal, based on clearance given by the union department of forests and environment, permitted for the continuance of the project. Before undertaking works on 13.93 acres of forest land, however, the government has to meet certain conditions imposed by the union government's environment ministry.

The bench also dismissed review petitions filed by Yatiraj, Kishore and Somashekhar from Tumakuru, Hassan and Mangaluru, against the project. It has adjourned hearing into certain technical aspects of the project to January 27.

In the recent past, a regional empowered committee of the union government headed by IFS officer, Shivaraj, had met in the city to consider the issue, and after its members visited the project site, had given recommendations in favour of the project.

It means Project goes on!!!! All those protests, press conferences, Delhi Visits, etc, etc are “Karaavali Janara Kannige Mannu”… These Leaders, MPs’ or MLAs’ do their usual business like they did in UPCL by giving their own Firm or Company Equipment or Vehicles on hire basis and start accumulating the money. Ultimately Protest Banners will remain in the hands of local people and they too will use it in the evening time to bring fish from the local fish market!!!! Take the example of Paadoor Crude Oil Stock Piling Project…. Nearby people even sold their water from their well to Construction Company and when water emptied completely they started pretesting against the construction!!!!

Both DK MP's ,DVS and Nalin Kumar have fooled the DK voters.
Our people voted these two smiling cartoons in the last LS election and now regret for their project.
    DVS got the project approved.
Nalin says he will talk with DVS and Parliament.
Both travel in the same flight from Mangalore to Delhi and what they discuss? Kambala?
Our DK voters will never forgive them.

Project will continue, but is bound to fail to fulfill its goal of providing water to parched land as more destruction of forest will see less rain in the catchment areas that are destroyed & the ulterior motive of providing water to Devanahalli area will suffer as colosal loss of money or waste of Tax Payers money to fill the pockets of few.

Why can't they divert river Cauvery's water instead of allowing it to flow into the Bay of Bengal or better still clean up the tanks and lakes in kolar? This project is nothing but a project to swindle the tax payers money.

Project will go on and more the delay by way of stoppage of work due to protests will only "TREBLE" the end cost of the project. (Tax Payers money)
