Mangalore, Sep 3: The birthday of Shri Krishna was celebrated with grea pomp and devotion in the city on Monday September 3.

Lord Shri Krishna, who taught the way of life to humanity, was remembered in Mangalore on the occasion of Janmashthami by organizing the competition for kids of donning Lord Krishna's costumes in various parts of the city.

Kalkura Foundation had organized this competition at Kadri Shri Manjunatheshwara temple’s premises on Monday. More than 750 kids between the age of 6 months to 12 years took this opportunity to become Lord Krishna.

Competitions were held in 8 different sections. The competitions were held in afternoon, which is the resting time for these kids. But the parents brought them here by dressing them up just like Shri Krishna. Similar competition was even held for mothers too.

Kalkura Foundation has been organizing this competition for the last 22 years. This year even the heavy downpour did not prevent the kids from participating in this competition.
