Puttur: Honey, it's all about money! Facebook love proves costly for youth

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Jan 11: A youth named Sachin from Perne village near Uppinangady, who reportedly lost lacs of rupees after falling in love with a girl whom he got to know through Facebook, has filed a case in Uppinangady police station.

The youth, who is 25, had fallen for a girl from Sakleshpur in Hassan district after getting to know her through social website, Facebook. The love was mutual, and soon progressed till the talk of marriage.

At this juncture, the girl reportedly expressed the desire to continue her education. He supported her desire and gave his nod. He also made all arrangements for the girl who came down to Mangaluru from Sakleshpur. The youth claims to have spent around two lac rupees for making all arrangements.

However, as days progressed, calls from the girl became infrequent with yawning gaps in between. Whenever he could establish contact with her and questioned her about her changed attitude, she began answering adamantly, the man says. The girl also later claimed to have married another youth by way of registered marriage. It is also said that Sachin used to get threatening calls from people who claimed themselves as relatives of the girl's husband.

Sachin has now sought help of Uppinangady police, seeking their help to sort out the matter.

Sachin, who met his lady-love through Facebook, had to lose Face while financing her Books (education).

Sachhu dear, (virtual) life can be really cruel. Forget about the lost lakhs and move on, in life.

Your (real) life partner may be just around the corner. Anyhow, as Bhandumaam has advised, watch out for the googlies, bouncers, etc. and be patient. Do not be discouraged. If you have not succeeded, try again!

There are many other medias other than Facebook & WhatsApp which made even many qualified people to believe on Donkey's and Monkey's on their backend
I have seen personally that 68 yrs old lady chatting on Facebook and Whatsapp in local train ended up in lover affairs and got separated, these medias are for good cause to improve career, education, business and for good relationship.

    Oh My God!!!

First rule to follow: Never ever part with your money. Be smart not dumb.
There, apparently are a lot of gangs (if you could call them) who are resorting to such tactics, first via email (from remote parts of the world) and now via prominent forms of social media.
Please take special care and weigh the pros and cons and if any one does ask you for money, please discuss this with your Family and friends, because even if you dont see clearly, (thinking this all in the name of love),your Family and Friends will provide you sound advice.

    OH! God! What a coincidence!!
Get my point or the gist Madam??
This boy needed proper 'coaching' that's all... he 'dived' first and now is learning swimming...
Love does not need 'coaching' but nowadays this FB love and all that...you must just be that tad bit careful...Is it not?
In our times 'Face to Face'..direct..
Now this nonsense Face...BOOK..that's the trouble...

    Mr. Bhandarkar,

Firstly i am not teaching him specifically how to deal !!. It was a general comment made by me in context of the article knowing very well the kind of people lurking around just waiting to pounce on your cash. Its always in the news unless offcourse you have not taken the time to yourself.

Let us keep this case and the one of 'sex over promise of marriage' at par. How many times the girl was not blamed to have given in to sexual indulging instead of waiting till marriage ?

Shouldn't the man in this incident too have waited till marriage to support his love in her further studies ?

Well certain things are best done at its own time. Too much hurry lands us in great regret.
