Beltangady, Jan 13: Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math revealed that he plans to install a box meant to help devotees get rid of their vices in front of the presiding deity at Sri Krishna Math, Udupi. "Anyone who wants to wriggle out of their vices like drinking, gambling, consumption of tobacco products, smoking etc can write down such bad habits in a paper and slip it into the box towards turning the society healthier," he explained.

He was delivering benedictory address at Amruthavarshini Hall of Dharmasthala after accepting the felicitation offered to him on behalf of Sri Manjunatheshwara temple establishment at Dharmasthala on Tuesday January 12.

"With the grace of the Lord alone can our country get rid of corruption. Addictions and corruption have grown into major problems confronting our nation. Lord Eshwara, who turned Kama into ashes by turning his sight at him, consumed the poison, 'Halahala' which was threatening to burn down the entire world, and taught the world to have concern about each other, can alone bless us to free ourselves from pollutants and perverted thinking processes of people. Lord Vishnu and Lord Manjunatha live in each other's hearts," he added.

He added that Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade, has been providing guidance to see that the Pejawar Paryaya is organized on a grand scale. People throng Dharmasthala to get inspiration from Heggade and also to earn the blessings of Lord Manjunatha. Heggade has developed this temple in away that is awe-inspiring, he explained.

Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade, in his address, said that Dharmasthala and Udupi have always had a close relationship. He added that this fusion between two different temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna is meant to exhibit unity between gods and not to showcase any differences.

Sri Mohandas Swamiji of Manila Sridhama, Hemavathi Heggade, D Harshendra Kumar, Supriya Harshendra Kumar, and Dakshina Kannada district president of Kannada Sahitya Parishad, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, were present.

Lecturer, Dr Sridhar Bhat, conducted the programme. The Swamiji was taken in an attractive procession on this occasion.
