Mangaluru: Speeding car overturns at Kottara - Narrow escape for six

Mangaluru, Jan 13: Six persons had a narrow escape after the car in which they were travelling toppled at Kottara here on Wednesday January 13.

The six who were in the Scorpio car sustained injuries and were admitted to hospital. Their identities are yet to be ascertained.

Sources said that three of the occupants of the car were seriously injured, however police sources said that the injuries were minor.

It is learnt that the Scorpio was moving recklessly at a high speed, because of which the driver lost control and the car overturned. It also hit another Duster car in the process.

Traffic (west) police arrived at the spot and registered a case.

    Mahindra Scorpio production started in 2002, not 20 years ago. And I don't blame Mahindra Scorpio for this accident. It's reckless driving. Roads are meant for safe travel not for racing putting public life in danger. I really concern for innocent people get hurt in accidents. They are the one who suffer for lifelong for other's mistake

    It may be SCORPIO or any other car but speeding kills. The picture itself shows the speed at which the car was driven. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured in this accident.

    Indians and Indian road has finest International cars and the best features.... But most of the Indians dont have International driving sense or driving ethics.... If this people drive anywhere outside India for 1 minute, accident by death is most sure for them...
