Mangaluru: Strong anti-Yettinahole agitation from Feb; ready to resign - Nalin

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jan 15: "The statement issued by state BJP leader, C T Ravi, about Yettinahole project denotes his personal stand. It is not the decision or stand of the party. We are committed to the stand spelt out earlier about opposition to unscientific Yettinahole project. The agitation against it will be intensified from first week of February," said Dakshina Kannada MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Speaking in the city on Thursday January 14, Nalin demanded for detailed investigation into irregularities in Yettinahole project. He asserted that preparation of scientific report and interaction with the people duly taking into confidence people of Dakshina Kannada are a must before the project can be considered. "As these demands have been overlooked repeatedly, we have no other option but to add further steam to the agitation," he reasoned.

The MP said that he would be visiting Kolar next week to convince the people there of the unscientific nature of the project and irregularities in execution. He said he respects and supports former union minister, Janardhana Poojary's opinion that a judicial committee should be appointed to look into the irregularities in the project.

About the demand for his resignation made by certain people, he said that he was allotted party ticket as per popular demand, and not because he implored for it. He added that therefore it is his duty to support justified demands of the people. "If my resignation can stall Yettinahole project, I am ready to resign. For me, love, affection, and concern of the people of my constituency are of paramount importance," he stated.

You supporters of MP have a weakness. You think the smiling MP's are smart and able leaders.
You know very well that DVS is demoted from Railway minister to file carrying minister.
This another March to Hasan minister has no guts to talk to the PM or DVS about the YH project because the PM minister himself has plans of joining and connecting rivers.
Though the PM or the local MP have no knowledge of the long term negative impact of the project but they keep saying that they will protest.
They have to learn a lot from Janardhana Poojari.
People stand and salute wherever he go.
The IAS IPS officers respect and listen to what he advice them.

PM’s plan is about joining and interconnecting rivers through building canals. Here the issue is diverting a naturally flowing river, which will prove disastrous in the long run.

Nalin Is a BJP party MP & member. State BJP Government headed by BJP Chief minister Sadananda Gowda ordered the Yettinahole project with official Government act. Presently BJP has majority in Central parliament and the Central cabinet is headed by BJP Prime minister Modi. BJP majority parliament & BJP headed central cabinet has power to Supersede the action of State Government action. So all BJP members please call on your own party at central Government to order the cancelation of Yettinahole project.( IT IS VERY SIMPLE FOR BJP)

It’s a pity to note that only those who know to speak English are deemed as intellectuals and highly educated. This is the Indian mindset since the country was ruled by the British for over 250 years. Secondly the medium of instruction in our country at university level is still English. This is not so in other countries where students study in their own native languages. I have observed an Indian who has just passed high school can speak and write English better than a Non-British / American doctor or engineer. Shall we categorise them as uneducated?

Nalin Kumar Kateel already resigned and his resignation is not accepted. Hence he will continue as M.P of Mangalore.

Once he resigns and the central accepts his resignation as M.P., then there are high chances that the BJP will bite the dust in Mangalore constituency.
