AIFW to be held at capital's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium


New Delhi, Jan 15 (IANS): The upcoming five-day Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) Autumn-Winter 2016 will be held at the capital's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for the first time in March.

The fashion gala in association with Maybelline New York, is scheduled from March 16 to March 20.

Announcing the venue, Sunil Sethi, president of Fashion Design Council of India - the country's apex fashion body - said in a statement: "We are pleased to welcome all of you to a spectacular new location, which will serve as a befitting platform to elevate the standard of the fabulous AIFW Autumn-Winter 2016 showcasing.

"It will give Indian fashion the larger-than-life space that it deserves as we get set to predict luscious trends for the season."

The prestigious biannual fashion week, which sees participation of ace designers like Rohit Bal, Ritu Kumar and Raghavendra Rathore, was earlier held at the centrally located Pragati Maidan. Last year, the magnificent creations of over 100 designers were showcased at the NSIC Grounds.
