Bengaluru, Jan 16: The state High Court on Friday opined that an application submitted to it to transfer a case to Pakistan could not be entertained.

Vishnu Valmiki (54) from Dharwad, a driver with North West KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) had applied to the court that a case between him and KSRTC should be transferred to Pakistan. He had said in his application that he did not have any hope of getting justice in the local courts. He had also requested the court to dismiss the case immediately as KSRTC was delaying the process of the case.

The court opined that Vishnu has not furnished any documents to support his anger and apprehension towards the courts and legal system. The court brought to his notice that the investigation in the case is complete and the government lawyers have said that charge sheet will be submitted soon. “Hence the court uses its discretion and orders the further steps in the case. Accordingly the court cannot dismiss the case,” part of the ruling read.

It is not yet known why the applicant was sure that he would get better justice in Pakistan and why he chose the name of that country in the application when he did not belong there.
