Udupi: Muslims donate blood to mark Paryaya, win appreciation from Pejawar Swamiji

Udupi, Jan 17: In a heartwarming gesture, a Muslim committee held a blood donation camp on Sunday January 17 to mark the fifth Paryaya of Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math.

The blood donation drive was organized by the district Samastha Muslim Paryaya Sauharda Samiti at Sanskrit College here.

Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji himself visited the blood donation camp.

Addressing the gathering, Pejawar Swamiji said, "People of all communities are extending their cooperation in every way. Blood donation is the greatest act of charity. Let us stop bloodshed and increase blood donation."

Appreciating the initiative, he said, "The Muslim community has always had a brotherly relationship with Pejawar Math."

Dr Raghavendra Rao of Kasturba Medical College and Abdul Razak were honoured by Pejawar Swamiji on the occasion.

The programme was jointly organized by Dr G Shankar Family Trust and Mogaveera Sangatana Bellampalli unit.

Bhuvanendra Kidiyoor, Aboobakkar, Hamzath Kodi, Ansar Mohammed, Mohammed Arif and others were present.

    This is the honest and divine direction of bringing peace and harmony in the society.

    Our neighbors will be of different religions, but in an emergency they will the best friends, not the politicians who did sow the seeds of friction and fight in our midst from far off places.

    Let the followers of Hinduism-Islam-Christians-Sikh-Buddihsts-etc may march and laugh together, help each other to create a better world for us and our posterity. SO HELP US GOD.

    That is an act which is highly appreciated by all. Left to themselves, the two communities are always friends but once the dirty politics and politicians enter the scene everything becomes ugly. I have been living in a muslim neighbourhood for last 30 years but never had any problems with them and vice versa. It is always third party interference which spoils everything.
