Mangalore, Sep 6: The tilted Chinese ship ‘Chang Leman’ is counting its last minutes at Tannirbavi beach now. Sources informed that, the ship has tilted to a highest extent. Hence, the Coast Guard and NMPT personnel have lost hopes of saving the ship. Hence, they are concentrated to save the crew of the ship.
But the crew in the ship has not yet received orders to abandon ship. They have been informed by their authority to stay in the ship till all hopes of pulling ship out of the middle of the sea are lost. Hence they have not been accepting any help while huge number of people gathered by Tannirbavi beach are keeping their fingers crossed and praying for a miracle to take place.
About 60% of the ship has sunken and rescue operations are further hampered owing to heavy rains. Moreover it is already it is already night and there is no proper lighting facility anywhere.

Mangalore, Sep 6: Fresh reports reaching www.daijiworld.com said that the Chinese boat "Chang Leman' which is caught in the deep sea has already tilted 30 degrees on its axis by 4 pm on Thursday September 6. Though the Coast Guards with the help of NMPT have already reached the spot and are trying to pull the boat to safety using a rope with the help of two tug boats, turbulent sea is hampering the rescue operation.
But experts say that it is very difficult to avoid the sinking of the boat owing to rough weather and the very fact that it seems that it is sinking owing to heavy load in the boat. Unlike DenDen which was tilting gradually, Chang Leman is dipping into deep waters. Though efforts are on to pull the boat to deep waters and then bring it back on its original position, operation is facing several difficulties. As reported earlier there are 28 crew members in the boat and local fishermen too have joined experts in the rescue operation.

Mangalore, Sep 6: It is only a couple of months ago that Eritrean ship DenDen had sunk by Tannirbavi shores here. Now in yet another tragedy, a ship from China has started sinking at Tannirbavi, a bit away from the DenDen spot.
The ship ‘Chang Leman’ from China, carrying iron ore, tilted about 12 degrees on its axis in the middle of the sea. Sources said that ship contains 16,100 metric tones of iron ore.
The ship had arrived at New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) on Wednesday August 29 and left NMPT on Thursday September 6 at 11 am. A total of 28 crew are inside the ship, NMPT authorities told ‘daijiworld.com.’
One can recall that the Eritrean ship ‘Den Den’ sunk almost at the same spot in the sea on June 23.
