Mangaluru, Jan 19: Sri Samyamindrateertha Swamiji, disciple of spiritual head of Kashi Math, Sri Sudhindrateertha Swamiji, who was heading Kashi Math of GSB community, will be taking over reins as the next Guru of the Math on January 28. The Math has been orphaned by the demise of Sri Sudhindrateertha Swamiji on Sunday.

The programme of enthronement will take place at Vyasa Mandir at Sri Kashi Math premises, Haridwar, in the presence of senior members and well-wihsers from GSB community. Sri Samyamindra will be the 21st Guru in the succession line of Kashi Math lineage, which has fortunately been led so far by some great illustrious visionaries including Sri Sudhindrateertha.

The programmes relating to laying the mortal remains of Sri Sudhindrateertha to rest went on till early morning on Monday. Members of GSB community who rushed from various parts of the country upon hearing the news of Swamiji's demise to Haridwar witnessed the programmes. Various religious rituals and programmes connected with post-funeral rites will be performed for 13 days at Haridwar.

On Monday,most of the business ventures run by GSB community members remained closed, and educational institutions and others declared holiday on Monday in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kasargod districts as a mark of respect for the departed Swamiji. Temples and shrines managed by GSB community will be holding various programmes including Bhajans and pujas from January 26 to 28.
