Mangaluru: Earthquake-resistant 'Woodville' apartments inaugurated at Bondel

Mangaluru, Jan 20: 'Woodville' apartments, the new venture of Citadel Developers was inaugurated at Bondel here on Wdnesday January 20.

Managing director of Shivasagar Group of Hotels and the owner of the land N T Poojary along with Sri Vikhyatananda Swamiji of Karkala inaugurated the building by cutting the ribbon.

The guests along with the partners of Citadel Developers Sandeep K, Ramkumar Bekal and Ajith Kumar lit the lamp and inaugurated the formal function.

Structural engineer of the building Premanand Shenoy addressed the gathering and explained the structural specialties of the building. "The building is a structural marvel. It is earthquake-resistant. The partners of the building have used 8 percent of more steel compared to other buildings. Usually builders are reluctant to spend more and instead focus on cost reduction. I wish that the firm builds more buildings."

Speaking to daijiworld, one of the partners, Ajith Kumar said, "Modern technology along with the quality materials has been used to maintain the quality of construction. It is the first building in the city to have the outdoor gymnasium. Along with this, there is also a jogging track next to the building which will be helpful for the healthy living.

De Earth are the architects of the building while structural designers of the building are Roy and Shenoy.

    Very true . No building can be Earthquake proof. They can only be earthquake resistant. That too, to a certain extent.But to make them so ,you need to spend more. Howmany builders are ready to spend for this, though it is mandatory in our region. Citadel developers have spend more to make their structure as per regulations.Isn't it worth a mention?
