Puttur, Jan 21: A man was killed after his car plunged down the side of the road in an early morning accident at Parpunja here on Thursday January 21.
The deceased has been identified as Umar (34), a resident of Santoshnagar, Madavu. The accident took place at around 4 am.
It is learnt that Umar was driving an Omni from Puttur to his home in Madavu when the accident took place.
Police sources said that Umar felt drowsy while driving and lost control of the Omni, which then plunged down the side of the road.
Umar who sustained serious head injuries died on the spot.
A case has been registered in Puttur rural police station.
