Udupi: Muslims contribute to temple programme at Kaup

Syed Shahid Mallar

Udupi, Jan 21: In a laudable gesture of communal harmony, Muslims served beverages during a Hindu religious programme held near Kaup here on Wednesday January 20.

The occasion was the foundation stone laying ceremony for the renovation of Mallar Brahmabaidarkala Garadi, near Kaup. Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake laid the foundation stone.

Brahmabaidarkala Garadi is one of the 66 garadis of Tulunadu heroes Koti and Chennaya. The devotees of the town, neighbourhood and Dharmasthala and Muslims in the vicinity extended monetary help to the event.

Devotees from Laxmi Janardhan temple arrived on January 20 in a rally accompanied by sounds of trumpets and chants from scriptures with loads of donations in the form of images carved on wood, cash, fruits and vegetables to Mallar Brahmabaidarkala garadi.

Muslim community members under the leadership of Mallar Tanzeem Friends and Sayyad Shahid Mallar served beverages to the Hindu community members who participated in the religious procession.

Good to see such unity among us which has always been for years in India. We people must take time to understand and think before we comment or make hasty decisions against each other. Please don't let others destroy and tarnish our love for one another. May God bless us with all togetherness, happiness and peacefulness....always.

This is tremendously overwhelming response. I wish this happens in every part of our district, and also in our state, and ultimately in our country. It's equal responsibility for both communities to share well wishes during each others festivals. And pray for Peace, Harmony & Prosperity. All the best & Good Wishes for this initiative.

A great gesture by the Muslim community. This will bring peace and harmony among Muslims and Hindus or rather I would say among all religion. There is lot of turmoil and disharmony going on among various religions in the entire world.

Very good move by Mallar friends keep it up. This time i was on vacation during Eid Milad rally and Hindu brothers in my village Uchila distributed Ice Cream for all the Madrasa students and to others who participated in rally. Let us join hand and live together. Also defeat and corner the communal forces who is deviding the society in the name of religion. Good luck.
