Kasargod: Police seize 10 kg of ganja, arrest two youths

Kasargod, Jan 22: In a joint operation conducted by the Kasargod police and officers of the Narcotics Cell on Friday January 22, two persons were caught transporting 10 kg of ganja in their bike.

The arrested are Badshah (19) and Mohammed Rafiq (20), residents of Dharmathadka Mangaladka. Another accused, Azeez alias Tadiyan Azeez (35) of Paivalike, is absconding.

The police stopped the bike at Siribagilu near Madhur and found the ganja on inspection. While Badshah and Rafiq were arrested, Azeez, the main accused, managed to escape.

The ganja was being transported in plastic bags. The police also seized the bike from the accused.

The police said that the ganja was being transported to Kasargod mainly for sale among youth and students.

    Police should have observe These carriers from where they collect and where they dispose,then Arrest them.One fellow is already Shows the signs of ganja of this.I Appeal the govt.dont legalize ganja.Even for adults,it is more dangerous than any liquour,or cigarettes.It is a easy Money making Job for some People.but then they pay a high Price for it when something goes wrong.

    I do not think it is for sale in Kasargod, Kerala. It will be for Mangalore since ganja and other banned items are freely available in Mangalore. Ganja and other banned items are consumed by students of various college’s in Mangalore. Students I mean not only boys even girls. Students who cannot drink alcohol consume ganja and other banned items hence ganja is in high demand in the district of South Kanara.

    Sad. This is the biggest problem of criminalisation of Marijuana. Illegal rackets that supply it to underaged children who aren't ready to handle it this substance, for profits. It really should be legalised and strictly regulated for adult consumption.
