Mangaluru: 'Food X' - Fabulous feast for foodies begins at Forum Fiza Mall

Mangaluru, Jan 22: For foodies in the city, all roads led to Forum Fiza Mall at Pandeshwar here on Friday January 22 as 'FoodX 2016', a unique food festival organised by eXevents got off to a sumptuous start.

The three-day food festival was inaugurated by president of Mangaluru branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India CA Shiv Kumar.

Chairman of AK Group A K Ahmed,senior representatives from eXvents including Zamzeer Ahamed, director Nisar Ahmed and Sandeep Salian and general manager Saad were also present.

The event will continue till January 24 at Forum Fiza Mall from 10 am to 9 pm.

The festival is a gourmet's delight with a wide spread of delicious items, from tantalizing pickles to mouthwatering pastries, exotic dates to yummy chocolates, scrumptious snacks to rich biryani and much more. Stall exhibitors included Aruna Industries, Aruna Masalas, Sun premium cooking oil, PBA Foods and Spices, Yen Cafe, SRR Masala, Henswood, snack counter from Snackies, Reem dates and nuts, Chicken Bay, Palace Kitchen, Biryani Tree, Retroct.com (online grocery store), Mumbai Darbar, Campco and many more.

The highlight of the food fest is Japcul who has come to promote variety of Japanese food items like Teishoku (plate meals) and Dora (Doryaki) cakes with their signature Japcul style imprinted on it. Dorayaki consists of two small pancake-like patties wrapped around a filling of sweet red bean (rajma) paste. Teishoku includes rice, miso soup, a main dish, a side dish and pickled vegetables. The stall was instant hit with visitors making a beeline to get a taste of the Japanese cuisine.

Over 50 brands with 30 local and regional companies are being showcased during the festival.
