Kasargod: Car falls into pond - youth dies, his brother survives

Kasargod, Jan 23: In a tragic incident which occurred at Baja near Nettanige, Mulleriya in the district on Friday January 22 morning, a youth died after the car in which he was seated slid into a pond near his home. However, another youth survived this accident.

Supreet Rai (35), son of Amarnath Rai and Jayanti couple from Nettanige died in this accident. He was trying to drive the car parked in the courtyard of the house forward, when the car suddenly slipped and tumbled into a pond located about 15 metres away from their courtyard, by the side of agricultural fields. Locals rushed to the spot, brought Supreet out of the car, and were taking him to Puttur for being admitted into the hospital there, when he breathed his last.

Supreet's brother, Guruprasad, who was also inside the car at the time of the unfortunate accident, managed to save himself.

Supreet is survived by wife, two sons and two brothers. He was busy preparing for the annual religious programmes being organized on January 23 at the ancient Daivasthanas connected with his family.

MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, and many others visited the house of the deceased and offered condolences to the bereaved family.

    So sad his death would happen in his own compound of his house. May the soul of Supreeth Rai rest in eternal peace and deepest sympathies to his wife, children, parents and loved ones.
