Terror arrests: 300 places in Karnataka identified as sensitive


Bengaluru, Jan 23 (PTI): In the wake of the arrest of six suspected terrorists with ISIS links in the state, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara today said that more than 300 places have been identified as "sensitive".

"Police department in Bengaluru and in the entire state have identified more than 300 places as sensitive places," he told reporters.

Meanwhile, the six arrested persons were today produced before the Special Court here by NIA and granted transit warrant for four days. They will have to be produced before a court in Delhi on January 27.

They were identified as Najmul Huda (25) of Mangaluru; Syed Mujahid (33) of Tumkur; Asif Ali alias Arman Saani (21), Suhail Ahmed alias Sohail alias Hafes Saab (23) and Muhammed Abdul Ahad alias Bade Amir alias Sulaiman (46) from Bengaluru.

Parameshwara said the identified places include important buildings, installations, places where people gather like - shopping complex, tourist destinations.

Stating that the department was ready to address any challenging situation, he said "we have in place immediate task force named Garuda. We will continue to take such extra measures."

In a nationwide crackdown ahead of Republic Day, NIA has arrested 13 suspected ISIS sympathisers for plotting attacks in different parts of the country, with six of them from Karnataka.

NIA, which had detained six suspected terrorists from Bengaluru, Tumkuru and Mangaluru regions of the state during early hours yesterday, has subsequently arrested all of them.

    8. in kolkata a son of TMC leader killed a IAF officer after drink and drive, and govt is protecting him and Mr. Rahul Vincy is not yet visited the spot, people questioning on this, are they diverting people from this????
