Mangaluru: Circle inspector Pramod transferred to Chamarajanagar

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jan 24: Pramod Kumar, who served as circle inspector (CI) of Mangaluru rural police station and had been in the eye of the storm recently over the arrest of an accused in Ulaibettu case, has been transferred.

As per an order dated Friday January 22, Pramod has been transferred to DCRB (daily crime report bureau), Chamarajanagar with immediate effect.

The order, signed by ADGP (administration) Praveen Sood states that Pramod along with three other police inspectors in other parts of the state have been transferred in public interest and for administrative reasons, after taking due concurrence of the state Election Commission.

It may be recalled that on December 8, 2015, the personnel of Mangaluru rural police station had risen in protest against the administration alleging that Pramod had been 'sent on leave' for arresting an accused in connection to an assault case in Ulaibettu that took place in December 2014. The protest was withdrawn after Pramod 'resumed' duty. While some had argued that the arrest of Abubakker was a case of 'mistaken identity', the girl who had filed the complaint had claimed that there was no mistake on the part of inspector Pramod. MLA of Mangaluru north Mohiuddin Bava, who was accused of influencing the police, had gone on record saying that he had not instructed anyone to transfer Pramod, but only told the police that the person arrested may be innocent. Sources claimed that this incident had a role to play in Pramod's transfer.

Jaisi karni , waisi bharni.. at his initial days of service he was a brave officer , but as time passed even he was influenced by sangh. Or else why shud satyajit surathkal come and protest in front of police station in favour of pramod. In that day may be pramod had thought he won , but he should not had entertained protesters , he should had respected commissioner of police rather than making him now down in front of crowd. He should had true to justice his action in ulaibettu issue in front of commissioner internally. But he wanted to be singham and as a result he has been transferred.. I welcome state gov't order.

With a officer like this gone, dirty politicians will continue to have a free hand to play their games. If this continues, there is no doubt that a communal riot is sure to take place. When innocents die, property is destroyed and curfew is imposed, That is the time all you people who hurl abuses at this officer will realize the mistake you have made. A police officer comes to do his duty, and is ready to go any where he is asked to go. Its not Pramod's loss. Its Mangalore's loss. You haters please continue. Your time to realize is sure to come.

Honest officers have no place under congi govt. They are supposed to hang on the phone throughout the day waiting for ministers to come online. or else they will be transferred and harassed.

    Dear Hussain,
I guess instead of mentioning My Captain, it is fair to mention "YOUR CAPTAIN" as you are the one who follow him more than me.

So called "CAPTAIN" may be told some 1 figure, not 99%, 90% 80%, 60%, 59%.
So can you stick on any of one figure???? which will not confuse all.
    Mr. Santosh,K told "Decreased 59% from 60%."
I guess he consider 1 police officer equal to 1% of total means in Mangalore only 100 (=100%) Police staff r there??? and only 99 (=99%) police staff left in Mangalore????

This is the plight of honest officer when politics is mixed with administration. If an honest officer is transferred on arresting someone then the concerned police officer will not be motivated to work in the future. When someone is doing is Govt. job there should not be anyone to correct him, he as his senior officers to take care of his flaws. All the best Pramod in your transfer to Chamarajanagar.

History repeats itself. Another sincere and honest officer is made a scapegoat. This is nothing but torture. No matter how well you perform your duties, there is a certain section of society who will always manage to find fault with you. I wish you all the very best sir and I pray to god to give you the strength to work within this wretched "system" and continue your good work. All the very best sir. Mangalore has lost a very good police officer. Chamarajanagar is lucky.
