Satya Paul celebrates craft of Marathwada weavers


Mumbai, Jan 25 (IANS): Iconic designer brand Satya Paul has come up with capsule khadi collection, woven by widowed khadi weavers of the farmers of Marthawada region.

The fabric is said to have a great significance for the history of modern India and with Republic Day around the corner, this limited edition sari line celebrates the Indian spirit woven into the fabric that symbolises India's self-reliance, said a statemement. 

The line offers a wide range of pure khadi saris on a monochromatic palette, as well as with a churn of other unique khadi blends in vibrant hues. 

All the pieces have been inspired from the repertoire of Satya Paul’s iconic prints from over the years that have represented a socio-cultural cause.

The collection, especially designed in support of the Naam Foundation for development of khadi, was also showcased at the Spring Fest here, uniting the world through performing arts.

Naam Foundation works to build a sustainable and progressive society by facilitating development in rural areas by working on different issues like infrastructure, education and employment.
