Mangaluru, Jan 25: The audio of the much-awaited Konkani film 'Noshibacho Khell' directed by Harry Fernandes and produced by Henry D'Silva under the banner of Preston Enterprises and Kyam Films, was released on Monday January 25 at Hotel Deepa Comforts.

Fr Andrew D'Souza, parish priest of Bondel church released the audio CD and Jacqueline Fernandes sang the theme song on the occassion.

Addressing the gathering, director Harry Fernandes said, "I am happy that the audio of our movie is being released today. I am basically from Barkur. The storyline is about who will win in the love triangle of Johnson-Sophia-Cynthia. What has a villain got to do here? Who is the villain? Whom does fate favour? There is an element of suspense throughout the movie. I have directed a lot of Bhojpuri movies. Out of the best 70 movies in Bhojpuri, I am happy to tell you all that 15 are mine."

Fr Andrew D'Souza, parish priest of Bondel church said, "Today in the era of modernisation where Konkani language is losing its existence, the team of 'Noshibacho Khell' has made a laudable attempt to promote and protect the language. Producing a Konkani movie is a great challenge. It is a matter of pride and honour that a movie has been produced in Konkani language. May God's blessings be on you and may you produce many more movies in the future. Let us all support Konkani movies.

"There are meaningful and pleasant songs in this movie. I am sure meaningful a movie has been produced. I wish all the success to the movie," he added.

Eric Ozario, gurkar of Mandd Sobhann said, "We produce music CDs by spending about Rs 5 lac and put all efforts to recover the money by selling them, but fail. When this is the case, Henry has gone on to produce a movie, and I congratulate him. I thank him for giving me an opportunity to sing my first song for a movie. I wish all success to this movie."

Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld Media said, "For the success of any movie, the producer and the director should have not have three traits - ego, partiality and arrogance. The producer should invest and provide all the facilities, and at the same time should not interfere in the work of the director. This is how Henry D'Silva and Harry Fernandes are. I have interviewed all the artistes of this movie and they have mentioned a point that both the director and producer are down to earth and were open to suggestions. This is a great quality. I am sure that this movie will be a great success of the year. I wish more movies come up and wish them all success."

Roy Castelino, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Acadamy said, "Let us put more efforts into developing Konkani. Konkani-speaking people are spread across the world and they are rendering their services in banks, hospitals, education institutions and many other fields. But we lack enterprise. Producing movie is a business and it needs to be seen in a business point of view. If Konkani movies are not successful, it is because of two factors - One, we have limited audience as there is divide within Konkani; and two, we are not enterprising people. There are very few Konkanipeople in this business.

"Ever since I took charge of Konkani Sahitya Acadamy, I have taken up many initiatives to promote the language. Recently we had conducted a programme for all the Konkani artistes and about 200 artistes had registered. They will be given identity cards and efforts are on to provide all benefits they are entitled to by the government. Low premium health insurance for these artistes has been initiated by tying up with some hospitals in the city. I congratulate and wish all success to this movie," he added.

Richard Castelino said, "If a movie is produced keeping in mind all aspects like target audience, marketing strategy and so on, it will not fail. The producer can get his investment back. Producers should take into account why previous producers have failed or succeeded and make an assessment."

All the artistes of the movie were honoured with flowers and copies of the CD by Walter Nandalike.

Stany Alvares welcomed the gathering while Victor Mathias compered the event.

The audio CD includes 8 songs composed by Eric Ozarlo, Wilson Olivera, Roshan DSouza, and Gunwant Sen. Lyrics are penned by Wilson Olivera, Victor Concesso and Lloyd Rego Famous Konkani singers Wilson Olivera, Shilpa Cutinho, Nephie Rod, Jacqueline Fernandes, Anthony Tauro, Babitha Pinto and Vivette DSouza have rendered their voices.
