As far as Bharat Ratna , Padma shri awards are concerned it seems these awards are only meant for actors, cricketers, businessmen and political affliators who only do their self achievement and hardly anything for society. That is tragedy of these awards which is loosing its credibility day by day. Except for 3-4 awardees it seems others have bought the awards. In this country anything is possible.

Except few cases, worthy or unworthy is not the criteria to give these awards by Congress and BJP governments. These awards have become toys in their hands and they play with them according to their convenience.

The names all look political. None of the names from Karnataka gov nominations have been considered. More on political favored than looking into hidden talents.

Yes, Mr.s i agree with your comment and selecting awardees even to best teacher also not on talent it has been practice and not a new one. I think if mr.Ravi shankar of art of living give short class on kapal bhati in Indian parliament of both lok/Rajya sabha then he will get bharat ratna.

nothing gr8 about these awards when congi in power they mostly their nominees and now bjp these awards mostly meant for film stars cricketers and political affliators hardly 3-4 will be real deserving. What about Shri Satyarthi who has even got a noble award for fighting against child labour, Shri Dabholkar who lost is life fighting for social equality and superstition, NanaPatekar fighting for farmers and several other unsung heros and heroines who are working selflessly for the country's upliftment even the World will recognize their contribution but not our govt.
