Omung Kumar most meticulous director: Richa Chadha

Mumbai, Jan 26 (IANS): Actress Richa Chadha, who sports a 'desi' look in the upcoming film "Sarbjit", says Omung Kumar is the "most meticulous" director she has worked with.

"Sarbjit" is a biopic on Sarabjit Singh, an Indian farmer who was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan and was sentenced to death. He was attacked by inmates at a prison in Lahore in April 2013 and died a few days later.

In the biopic on his life, Richa will be seen as the protagonist's wife Sukhpreet Kaur.

"Thank you so much to the most meticulous director I have ever had the privilege of working with," Richa wrote on Tuesday.

Kumar, who earlier directed "Mary Kom", responded: "Hey Richa, thank you so much for all your hard work."

The director also shared the first look of Richa's character from the film. She is seen wearing a bright coloured salwar suit, bangles and jewellery -- much like a married Punjabi woman.

Actor Randeep Hooda will be seen playing Sarabjit in the film, which will be narrated through the perspective of the victim's sister Dalbir Kaur, played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

"Sarbjit" is slated to hit the screens on May 19, a day before it was scheduled to hit the screens.
