Mangaluru, Jan 28: A rape convict has received 7 years rigorous punishment for rape and cheating.

Parameshwar (33) from Narimogaru village in Puttur is the person convicted and imprisoned.

Justice D T Puttaranga Swamy from the 6th district additional court here who had convicted Parameshwar on January 25 pronounced the quantum of punishment on Wednesday.

Parameshwar was charged for rape and cheating under section 376 and 417 sections of Indian Penal Code respectively and both the charges were proved. For rape, the convict has received 7 years rigorous imprisonment and the fine while for cheating, he has received 3 months simple imprisonment.

Parameshwar worked as a JCB driver and also as a garage worker. He was in love with the victim for 5 years. But he kept on postponing the marriage which he had promised to her. On May 19 in 2014, he visited her house when others were not around and raped her with the promise of marrying soon. The neighbours, who found the bike of the accused outside victim’s house, informed her brother who was in Mangaluru. He told them to lock the house from outside till he came. But the victim and accused somehow managed to flee from the house using the backdoor when it was dark.

Parameshwar visited Puttur with the victim and made arrangements for the marriage with the help of some organisations. But before the wedding ceremony could take place, he disappeared from the scene with the pretext of going to talk to the leaders of a particular organisation.

The victim who anxiously waited with hope for the arrival of Parameshwar till May 25, 2014 subsequently lodged a police complaint at Kadaba police station. The accused was arrested the next day by police.

Parameshwar’s uncle Vishwanath (30) and brother Mahesh (27), who were charged with helping Parameshwar to disappear, were acquitted for lack of evidence.

The court came to conclusion that Parameshwar cheated the victim and raped her with no intentions to marry her. Judith O M Crasta was the public prosecutor in the case.

Lower courts now a days giving biased and misandry ( Anti men ) judgements , a consensual elopement become rape just by verbal statement of girl assuming every relationship should end in matrimony ! . See the bias here , feminism talks about 'liberation' thus discrediting marital relationships and the very same movement promotes victim hood slaying men for consensual acts which do not end in matrimony . Mans life have been taken for a toss here and woman's statement as gospel. No wonder blame it on third wave of feminism and I sincerely hope higher courts do justice with him .
