Ajman: High-level German delegation visits Gulf Medical University

Ajman, Jan 28: A high-level German delegation led by Elke Badde, Undersecretary of Health and Consumer Protection of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg visited Gulf Medical University (GMU), the leading private medical university owned by Thumbay Group, on Tuesday January 26.




The delegation was accorded a warm welcome at GMU, by Thumbay Moideen - founder president and chairman of the Board of Governors of Gulf Medical University, Akbar Moideen Thumbay - vice president of the healthcare division of Thumbay Group and the members of the administrative team of Thumbay Group. The visiting delegation also included prof Dr Hans-Joerg Schmidt Trenz, CEO of Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, and representatives of Hamburg’s healthcare companies and service providers.

The delegation attended a presentation outlining GMU’s achievements, its emphasis on research-based learning, its topnotch facilities and curriculum and the diversity of its people. They also toured GMU and its facilities including the Center for Advanced Biomedical Research & Innovation (CABRI) and Center for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare (CASH), and interacted with the faculty and senior personnel.
The delegation expressed their appreciation of GMU’s facilities and said that they were highly impressed with Thumbay Group’s extensive business portfolio and future projects. Thumbay Moideen thanked the delegation for their visit.
