Two Kerala children among five dead in Oman accident

Kasargod, Jan 29: Five persons, including two children have been killed in a school bus accident at Nizwa in Oman.

The deceased have been identified Mohammed Shammas from Pattannor in Kannur, Rooya Aman from Kottayam and Deepali Satheyi from Maharashtra, who was a teacher at Nizwa Indian School.

Two others who died were local bus employees.

It is learnt that the children of Nizwa Indian School were being taken on a tour to Bahla. The accident occured when another heavy vehicle rammed into the school bus, sources said.

Around 20 students were injured in the accident, among whome three have been admitted to the ICU of Nizwa hospital. A female teacher is also said to have sustained serious injuries.
