Udupi: Motor bike rider killed in bike-auto rickshaw accident

Udupi, Jan 30: A motor bike rider was killed in a road accident involving goods auto rickshaw near Barkur in the taluk on the night of Thursday June 28.

Basavaraj (30), son of Devanand Natekar, residing in a rented house in Heroor, lost his life in this accident. Basavaraj was moving in his two-wheeler to Hanehalli when a goods rickshaw driven by Ummer Farooq from the direction of Barkur Junction hit him near Barkur.

Basavaraj, who fell to the road along with his vehicle, suffered serious injuries. He breathed his last when being taken to hospital. Ummer Farooq too suffered injuries in the accident.

On the basis of a complaint filed by Devanand Natekar, a case stands registered at Brahmavar police station. Investigation is on.

    So sad. Basavaraj was killed when a goods auto rickshaw rammed into his bike. May his soul RIP. Sympathies to the bereaved families and loved ones.
