Israel: Bishop Aloysius Leads Nativity Celebration

Tel Aviv, Sep 10: The Indian Community in Israel celebrated ‘Monthi Fest,’ the birthday of Beloved Virgin Mary at St Antonys’ Church, Yafo on Saturday September 8.

The Holy Eucharisticwas offered by Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalor.  Fr Andrew D’Souza, parish priest of Mudipu church was one of the con-celebrants.














At the same time, the nesw corn was blessed by the bishop. Fr Artharo, parish priest of St Antonys’ church explained the importance of blessing the new harvest, on this occasion. Melwyn Fernandes, president of Indian Community, honoured the bishop with the citation letter. Later, the traditional food was served with the assistance of Jona Belman.

Cultural programmes were held after the lunch. Melwyn Furtado and Wilson D’Souza were the chief guests present at the occasion. Bishop released the CDs of Konkani Drama ‘Bongo,’ directed by Wilson D’Souza and Jeevan D’Souza while others performed Baila dance, during the cultural programme.

    Congratulations to every indian who had the oppurtunity to celebrate the monti feast in holyland ofered by the Bishop.best wishes to all Mangaloreans who is doing a great job in Israel despite being away from loved ones.keep it up.

    Daiji world, Really surprising. How you could capture the world news in fraction of seconds. Keep the same spirit and bring more and more. Really enjoyed to see the Mother Marry Birth Day celebration throughout ther world in front of 19" monitor.
