Mangaluru, Feb 1: "Nalin Kumar is opposing the Yettinahole project just for political and personal gains. Let him come out of BJP and speak against his party," said B Ramanath Rai, forest and ecology minister and in-charge minister of Dakshinina Kannada.

Addressing media persons at the Circuit House here on Monday February 1, he lashed out at MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and said, "Nalin Kumar is doing drama in the name of Yettinahole project. I cannot do such kind of political drama. I do not want to take political mileage from this project.

"The project was initiated by the late minister Dr V S Acharya and most of the leaders of BJP are supporting it. So if Nalin Kumar is opposing the Yettinahole project, it is just for political and personal benefits. Let him come out of the BJP and speak against the party. A few leaders including Nalin are accusing the Siddaramaiah government of implementing the project even though it was approved by the erstwhile Sadananda Gowda-led BJP government.

"This project was approved in the state Assembly, so if the BJP wants to stop the project, let it pass an adjournment motion in the Assembly and convince its leaders. I will speak to chief minister Siddaramaiah," he added.

"Some of the BJP leaders including C T Ravi are supporting the project and in Dakshina Kannada leaders of the same party are against it. They are just playing with the feelings of the people," he alleged.

Interim president of district Congress Ibrahim Kodijal, mayor Jacintha Alfred, chief whip of Mangaluru City Corporation Shashidhar Hegde, and corporators Sabitha Misquith and Naveen D'Souza were present.

Mangalore lost it's tag for smart city for known reason. Till such time we have all these old minded ministers in Karnataka, Mangalore can't get the tag of smart city. We need young blood, dynamic ministers in Karnataka govt. and not some dead wood which is of no use. We can make noise of smart city, it might happen only after 50 years or we might be last city on the list.

Nalin Katil MP & BJP is faking to Mangalorians about Yettinahole project.

The project was initiated by the late Dr V S Acharya BJP minister & local BJP leader.

Yettinahole project was approved in the state Assembly by BJP Government of Sadananda Gowda.

Presently Central Government is headed by BJP and has power to stop the Yettinahole project.

Ball is in BJP court and and BJP has control of the Ball and court. Why Nalin Katil MP & other BJP leaders stop the project.

Elected leaders wasting people's money in press conferences, blaming.Instead of blaming, the leaders think about the projects which benefit people. See how many people just wasting resources of our country. The parties should give preference to new and sincere candidates. People need to awaken and think about independent candidates.

What has this so called district in charge minister of Dakshina Kannada done to oppose the project? He has not even lifted a finger or spoken a word against the Yettinahole project. All he has been saying is since he is part of the government, he cannot speak against it. Why have you been elected by the people, Mr. Rai? Is it to safeguard your seat or it is to safeguard the interests of the people? If you are really interested in the people of this region, you have to raise this matter with the authorities concerned and convince them to stop this nonsense. If you are unable to convince them, step down from your post and show that you are the son of this soil. I agree with you on only one point and that is Mr. Nalin Kateel is doing drama on this matter. Yes, if Mr. Kateel is really sincere and honest, he can easily take up the matter with the P.M. and stop this project. As long as he does not do that, it clearly proves that he is only doing drama. Everybody knows that. All these politicians are very good in doing dramas and shedding crocodile tears.
