Udupi, Feb 1: Members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad staged a mass demonstration in front of Clock Tower, here on Monday February 1 condemning the politics at the college campus and against the three medical college girls who committed suicide in Tamilnadu due to excess fees charged to them.

Chinmayi, one of the members addressing the protestors said, "The administration has charged excess fees without a bill and has tortured the three students. This is an anti-national activity."

He urged the people to give up all protests which are held for invalid reasons. In many cases protests are restricted to only a day.

Santosh, state working unit member said the central opposition party vice president, Rahul Gandhi is playing politics on the college campus.

Expressing his views on the suicide of researcher Rohith Vemula, he said politicians are making use of such incidents for their own selfish gain.

The case should be handed over to be probed into strongly in order for the truth to be revealed. Rahul Gandhi must also take up the case of the three students.

The ABVP paid condolences to Vemula’s soul.

Rahul, though he is in a secular nation is trying to divide the nation in the name of casteism. Santosh urged the political parties and politicians not to take advantage of sensitive issues to fulfil their selfish demands.

A procession took off from PPC to Clock Tower.

Srihari, Rahul, Sujani, Goutham, Renuka, Sujani, Gauthami, Sushant from Milagres and others were present.
