Udupi: Search for Wipro engineer's body comes to end

Udupi, Feb 2: The body of Vivekananda Narayana Swamy, a software engineer for Wipro Software Company, Bengaluru, who went missing from St Mary's Island from Saturday January 30 has been recovered.

Search for the missing body came to a close four days after the search operation began. The body was found on the morning of February 2 around 7.15 am in the middle of the sea close to Hoode Bengre. The Malpe police had registered a complaint about the missing person on Sunday January 31.

Labourers in a disco boat informed the police of a body in a decomposed state.

Malpe police, fishermen Uday Kotian, Uduay Karkera, Sadanand, lifeguards Mohan, Madhu, Anil D'Souza helped in the rescue operation.

The body is kept at the Ajjarkadu mortuary of the district hospital.

Parents and friends of the deceased gathered at the hospital.
