Bantwal, Sep 11: Devotees thronged in large number to take holy dip into Sri Sadashiv Temple pond at Narahari near Panemangalore here on Shravan Amavasya day on Tuesday September 11.

Shravan Amavasya is considered to be one of the most auspices day as per Hindu calendar.  Devotees dip themselves in the Narahari pond in their quest to attain salvation and get freed from their sins.

Elsewhere in Mangalore, a similar scene was seen at Someshwar beach near Ullal.  Devotees first visited Shri Someshwar Temple and later dipped themselves in the nearby sea waters in order to absolve themselves from their sinful self.
