Mangaluru, Feb 2: A Sadananda Shetty, chairman International Bunts Welfare Trust, on February 4 inaugurated at a press meet, here the invitation of 'International Bunts mega Convention 2016' a cultural programme which will be held on February 6 and 7.
Addressing media persons A Sadananda Shetty said, "The International Bunts Welfare Trust (R) has been formed with several major objectives including the overall development of not just the Bunt community but also people of all communities. On February 6 at 2.30 am president of the convention Dr D K Chawta, Tulu literaturist will be taken in a procession from Government College to Town Hall. Thereafter the convention will be inaugurated by Dr Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala at 4 pm on Febraury 6."
"Sadashaya trimonthly magazine will be launched at the occassion. Dr N Vinaya Hegde, chancellor of Nitte University will launch the magazine. A women's convention will also be held on Febraury 7 at 9.30 am. This will be inaugurated by Dr Kripa Alva, chairperson of Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. It will be presided by Dr Dharani Devi Malagatti, assistant superintendent of police, Mysore. At 12.00 pm a comedy show 'Telikeda Kusal' will be performed by Mumbai Bunts. On the same day at 5 pm a valedictory programme will be held. Retired chancellor of Mahe University Dr B M Hegde will present the valedictory address. A Sadananda Shetty, chairman International Bunts Welfare Trust will preside over the programme. Public representatives like district incharge minister B Ramanath Rai, Member of parliament Naleen Kumar Kateel, health minister U T Khader, sports minister Abhayachandra Jain, MLC Ganesh Karnic, Ivan D'Souza, MLA J R Lobo, Mohiuddin Bawa, Shakunthala Shetty and others will be present."
The programme will showcase the Bunt way of life, Bunt style of dressing and will feature Young Bunts Couple 2016 competition. At 8 pm will be a musical event held by Gurukiran and group. Several filmstars are expected to grace the event.
Bhaskar Rai Kukkoli, Pradeep Alva, Santhosh Kumar Shetty, Raj Gopal Rai, Devi Charan Shetty, Shashidar Shetty and Navneeth Shetty were present at the press meet.
