Congress to release final list of ZP, TP candidates on Feb 5

Mangalore, Feb 2: The list of Congress supported candidates for the upcoming taluk panchayat (TP) and zilla panchayat (ZP) elections will be out on February 5, said Ibrahim Kodijal, district Congress interim president on February 2.

He was addressing the media persons in the district Congress office today.

"In most of the areas the list of candidates has been finalized. But the final list of Congress supported candidates will be published on February 5." said Kodijal.

"The Mysuru zonal level meet of party workers will be held on February 6 in which various leaders of AICC along with the state leaders will participate. About one lac party workers will gather from the various districts of the zone and about 20,000 party workers will take part in the meet. In the meet, emphasis will be given to motivate the workers to take the achievements and various schemes of the Siddaramaih government to the people and highlight the failures of the union government,” he added.

The last date to file the nominations, for the upcoming ZP and TP elections to be held on February 20 in the district, is February 8.
