Bengaluru: Congress chief says he has warned labour minister

Daijiworld Media Network -Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Feb 3: State Congress chief and home minister G Parameshwara said on Tuesday said that he has warned labour minister P T Parameshwar Naik for the embarrassment he created for the government recently.

Dr Parameshwara also said that the minister has been advised to avoid getting into controversies like in the past.

Parameshwar Naik had landed in soup after Kudligi deputy superintendent of police Anupama Shenoy was transferred at his behest for putting his call on hold. After a drama of few days, Shenoy was called back to continue in the same post at the previous place. But before that the issue attracted nationwide publicity. Naik who said he did not have anything to do with the transfer later boasted in a public meeting that he transferred the officer for disobeying him. The video of the public meeting went viral.

Dr Parameshwara said that he advised Naik in his capacity as the KPCC chief. He also revealed that Naik had told him that he did not play any role in the police officer's transfer.

Warning the minister is not sufficient but he should be punished by dropping him from council of ministers. This will enhance the face value of the party/govt.
