Kuwait, Feb 3: North Kanara Association, here organized their annual family get-together and Sports Day on Friday January 29 at the Agility premises. The cold spell in the open desert area did not deter the enthusiastic members and guests of around 130, who arrived in the early hours of the morning.
The event began with a prayer by Salvadore D’Souza after which the president, John Fernandes welcomed everyone.
The highlights of the day were the cricket and volleyball matches in which teams participated with true sportsmanship. The winning teams and best players were awarded glittering trophies, cash prizes and certificates. The children enjoyed games like 'Passing the ring with a straw' and 'The lemon and spoon race' and had the thrill of winning lovely prizes.
All present were treated to a sumptuous breakfast, lunch and tea/ coffee in the evening. The chief guest Khalid Al Khaldi was appreciative of the effort of each of the committee members and he assured the members of his support and help. The day ended on a musical note and the chilly air was more than welcome.
